The name yellow headed temple turtle (Heosemys annandalii) comes from the custom of people releasing Yellow-headed temple turtles into the ponds of Buddhist temples in Asia.

 Yellow-headed temple turtles grow over 20 in.(51 centimeters) in size.

Where Yellow-headed temple turtles live
Yellow-headed temple turtles have large points on their beak called cusps. The cusps act like teeth allowing the turtle grasp and slice their food.
